The St. Joseph Municipal Band performs concerts at 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 2 at the John E.N. Howard Band Shell in downtown St. Joseph. The band program opens with John Philip Sousa followed by an hour of rousing Marches and Overtures.
Sunday, August 6, will be a special tribute to
the St Joseph Municipal “Big Band”.
Featuring vocal soloists will be Madeline Schrock and
Special appearance by "The Breakers"
Please note: there will be no 3:30 p.m. concert.
These concerts will feature soloist from the band including William Camp, Bump Enders, Wendy Mazera, Kaethe Durham , and Pedro Falcon. Entertainment for the concert will be a performance by the Citadel Dance Company, directed by Lari Lawrence.
Stacie Detgen will guest conduct and be featured in a French horn solo “Concerto, Opus 8” by Richard Strauss.
The July 4 concerts are traditional in that they will feature all patriotic music and will again honor the veterans of all our services that have helped keep our freedom for the United States of America. The band will feature guest vocalist, Megan Yacobozzi Megan who has just returned from a tour of Ireland with the Citadel Symphony Chorus' Southwest Michigan Chorale.
The John Adams High School show choir from South Bend will be featured during the opening concerts of the St. Joseph Municipal Band at 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday, June 25 at the John E.N. Howard Band Shell in downtown St. Joseph.
The St. Joseph Municipal Band concert Sunday, August 13 will feature a guest conductor Byron Graves and vocal soloist Brinden Brown.
Municipal Band Brass Quintet featured will be featured at the 3:30 and 7:30 Concerts. Special performance by guest vocalist Jeff Cramer for both the Municipal Band concerts and the Big Band Concert
The St. Joseph Municipal Band features a guest conductor Alan Mitchell and a guest vocalist Megan Yacobozzi and Jacob Krieg singing Disney music favorites at its normal double concerts at 3:30 and 7:30 p.m.
The final concert for the St. Joseph Municipal Band will be on Labor Day, September 4, and will feature a trombone solo by Gary Cooper, vocal guest Kacie Colleen Mercer and Leo Carmody, and the annual school fight song collage.
These concerts will feature the return of guest conductor and arranger Jerry Lackey, with a featured soprano sax solo played by Dr. David Ratajik.
Guest conductor Jerry Lackey will also conduct his arrangement of “Don’tRain on My Parade,” which features guest vocalist Madeline Schrock.
