A message from Dr. Donald Moely

"It is a great honor to be the conductor of this fine group of musicians. Their dedication to serve
the St. Joseph audiences with concerts each Sunday and holidays during the summer at the John E. N. Howard band shell is phenomenal. I strive to keep the successful variety of programming and the high professional musical standards that were set for this community’s tax based band by my predecessor, John E. N. Howard (for which the band shell is named).  Our band receives numerous positive compliments from visitors across the entire country and from around the world, who tell us this quality band, the programs and the performance setting at the John E. N. Howard Band Shell overlooking the beautiful shoreline of Lake Michigan is an outstanding phenomena. It is a beautiful combination and it is truly thrilling for the musicians, the audiences and myself. I am glad to program all the fine talent and serve our community by performing to fine audiences each summer and continue the great tradition of this St Joseph Municipal Band."
